Nice ES. Next to Washington Square shopping center. I think it’s actually closer to Beaverton than Tigard. (Address is Tigard?)
Ample parking except the lines are subcompact apart so some cars take one and half spots. Most of the parking is to the sides and back. Check in quick, efficient and professional. Elevators slow. Elevator floor and Lobby floor in front of the elevator waiting area is wet most of the time due to swimming pool right there on the Lobby Floor, so be careful not to slip. Breakfast sitting area too small for number of guests, so it gets really crowded, however service is good but lines form more than most ES. “Front” service very professional and efficient. Room service had language problems, and had to use hand language, but friendly. Rooms may need some updating, but with comfortable beds. The fridge/microwave area is not very user friendly. It seems to be a converted closet, and the doors open towards the sink and block access to the bedroom from the LR.
Nice and clean bathroom. Sound insulation seems very good, or did not have neighbors the two nights we stayed. No road noise. Access to freeway is excellent… it’s right there. When eastbound, exit Hall BLVD. Westbound, exit Washington Square exit. Above average for location (convenience, access to freeway, safety) Average for needing some updates. Excellent for service. Note that if you are flying, the airport is almost an hour away. (There’s another ES near the airport).

This is a great option for staying in the Portland airport area. Also great for IKEA and Vancouver area as it is just off the 205. My kids loved the central area with waterfalls and fish ponds. Nice shallow pool for kids. One nice feature was the free beer/wine managers reception from 5:30-7:30 and the cooked breakfast includes everything you can think of. We got a nice suite with separate bedroom with 2 double beds. Very spacious room for the price. Worked great with kids. Would definitely stay there again.

I was at the hotel from April 14 - 18. On Hilton’s website it mentioned that the pool and fitness room was being remodeled. No big deal for me, but when I checked in I found out that the whole hotel was under construction. Floors 4, 5, & 6 were all blocked off. The noise was incredible in my room.

When I got to my room, no refrigerator or toilet paper holder and both t.v.’s were on the outs. Breakfast was due to open at 6:00 a.m. every morning. On that Wednesday, I arrived around 6:15 and breakfast wasn’t put out until 6:30. (It’s nice too see they can keep on schedule.)

The G.M. did try to make amends, but a couple of waters and chocolate really don’t matter, do they?

The hotel was undergoing unobtrusive construction while I was there, which is probably a good thing because it was beginning to show its age — particularly in the pool area!

The staff was excellent, friendly and as helpful as can be.

My room had some empty beer cans under the bed which I found while packing in the morning.

The dining is to be expected - nothing gourmet, on par with a place like Applebees. Open late and great after a long day on the road though.

I did find the neighborhood this hotel is located in to be a little concerning. I certainly brought in my valuables from my car - and would not go for a walk around the block.

We stayed here during our trip to see country music singer George Strait. Of course I visited TripAdvisor.com before booking a hotel stay. Good thing I did to because from what I’ve read this was the best place to stay around the Cleveland area. Actually downtown Cleveland is six miles away but that wasn’t a major issue.

We actually had an excellent time at this hotel. It was quiet and we sure needed the rest after a long drive (5hrs +) and exciting evening. The rooms are clean and the parking lots were clean too. Especially since it had recently snowed. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.

Visitor Review:

We stayed for four nights last week. I had a nice corner suite so I never heard any noise (Room 636) — not sure of the other corners but if you get a room that ends in 36 it will be nice with additional windows and potential for someone on only one side of you.

The kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the pool tables in the atrium. The fitness center was also well appointed.

We had the usual free breakfast and free cocktails each day. The breakfast was very good with plenty of hot and cold selections and made to order omelets, eggs any style, and waffles. For the cocktail hours they give you two coupons per person per night.

The hotel was dependable and clean and the staff was very friendly.

By the way, the steak restaurant next door is great, Stoney River Legendary Steaks (try the coffee-cured filet — it is one of their most popular). Also nearby restaurants that I recommend are Tucci’s restaurant, Las Margaritas mexican restaurant, and Windchimes Chinese restaurant. There is also a PF Changs and Macaroni Grill nearby.

Visitor Review:

My husband and I and our three sons decided to stay at this property because of its location to Progressive Field (formerly Jacob’s Field) and our past experiences at other Embassy Suites. This hotel was fantastic! They went out of their way to make our stay a good one. We stayed for two nights and on the first night we tried to get tickets to a Cavaliers game at the last minute. A hotel employee called the “Q” Center to see if any were still available. He told us few were left but asked another employee to take us over there on their shuttle to check. Unfortunately, there were no seats left but we were thankful for the ride and for them checking for us.

The hotel does offer FREE shuttle service within a two mile radius. The next morning, we took the shuttle to the Great Lakes Science Center to see a movie at the Omnimax. That was also a nice place to visit. My boys (ages13, 9 & 7) enjoyed the show about Mars very much. After that, we just called the hotel and the shuttle came and picked us up. It was like having a private chauffeur! Later that day we caught a White Sox/Indians game at Progressive Field. Again, the shuttle dropped us off and Progressive Field is beautiful!

The day of our departure was my youngest son’s birthday and we had packed his birthday gifts with us but, unfortunately, we forgot to bring a screwdriver to open a battery compartment for one of his toys. I went down to the lobby and asked one of the Valet/Shuttle drivers if he could help and he ran out to the shuttle and grabbed a screwdriver so we could put the batteries in the toy. It was a very busy time and it was very nice of him to do that for us.

The pool is nice and clean and the boys enjoyed it both days we were there. The hot tub is nice but it only worked the first night we were there. The second night the water was not hot, just lukewarm. They were in the process of trying to repair it.

The free breakfast was great. One of the cooks, James, is very friendly and talkative. He can tell you a lot about the city. He offered to make pancakes for my boys since pancakes are not part of the buffet. There were plenty of things to choose from such as scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, cereal, fruit, oatmeal….and the list goes on.

We stayed in a standard room with two double beds and a pull-out sofa. The room was spacious and clean. The cleaning staff was very friendly.

Overall, the people of Cleveland and the employees at the Embassy Suites were very friendly and helpful. We won’t hesitate to visit this hotel or city again!

Visitor Review:

I stayed here on business Jan 13-15 2008 in room 537. The lobby and atrium are very nice, the stream and turtle pond really are relaxing. The only real issue I had was a big one… no sound damping insulation between the bedrooms. I honestly heard every sound, whisper, cough, comment, and tv show from room 538’s bedroom as if I were standing in there. This destroys one’s sense of privacy, and can make it really difficult to sleep. I commented on this at checkout, and the desk clerk said that it had been reported before. When I filled in the hilton online questionaire, I got a reply from the manager the next day to apologize. He said several rooms simply did not get insulated when they built the place. I would happily stay here again if I don’t get one of these rooms. I also ate once in the hotel for dinner . It was somewhat overpriced, and rather flavorless for a spicy sothwestern chicken pasta. Breakfast however was full course with a fantastic selection and included in your room rate
